Cost guide

How much does a dialer cost a 10-agent insurance agency?

Budget about $900 to $2,990 a month for the dialer itself at published list prices, before leads, DNC data and taxes. On EmberDial, ten licenses cost $1,190 a month at 1,000 connected minutes per agent and $1,990 at 5,000, with numbers, reputation and transcripts included. Of the dialers that publish prices, setups matched to the same features run from $900 (JustCall) to $2,990 (ReadyMode) a month; Convoso and Kixie need a quote. JustCall’s fair usage policy excludes call centers and telemarketing, so check it before you budget an outbound team on JustCall.

EmberDial publishes this guide; treat it as a vendor's view. Competitor prices come from each competitor's own pages, linked beside each figure with the date we read them. EmberDial is an outbound sales dialer for US teams and agencies; this example uses a 10-agent insurance agency, and the same math applies to any outbound team.

EmberDial's bill, line by line

Here is one month for ten agents who each connect 2,000 minutes, with all ten dialing at the same time and 3 local numbers each. These are standard advertised rates; your written order confirms the terms.

That is $139 per agent a month, or $1,880 with Agent Assist on all ten. Taxes and separately confirmed surcharges are not in these figures. Check the totals for your own team in the dialer cost calculator, and see every rate on the pricing page.

Seats or licenses

Most dialers bill per named user or seat, so ten agents means ten seats. EmberDial bills per concurrent calling license: one license supports one simultaneous caller, and agents keep their own logins and share licenses across shifts. If every license is in use, the next agent waits in a queue until one frees up.

So the license count depends on how your floor works. Ten agents dialing together need ten licenses. Two shifts of five agents need 5 licenses, which cuts $495 a month from the license line. The minutes don't change, because the same calls still happen.

One trade-off: under 10 licenses, onboarding and the CRM connection aren't bundled. Self-service setup is still free, and a CRM connection is $499 one-time if you want one.

Connected minutes at realistic talk time

Connected minutes are the time agents spend talking, not ringing. An agent who talks three hours a day over 22 calling days connects about 3,960 minutes a month. Agents on aged leads or short shifts often talk less. Here is the EmberDial total for ten agents across that range.

EmberDial monthly total for 10 agents
Connected minutes per agent10 licenses5 shared licenses10 licenses with Agent Assist
1,000$1,190$695$1,680
2,000$1,390$895$1,880
3,000$1,590$1,095$2,080
5,000$1,990$1,495$2,780

The Agent Assist column adds $49 per license and covers assisted minutes past the pooled 3,000 per license with $15 packs of 1,000 minutes, assuming guidance runs on every connected minute. Without packs, guidance pauses at the allowance while calling continues.

Local numbers and add-ons

Numbers, reputation monitoring, transcription and DNC screening are where quotes grow. Each dialer packages them differently. Here is what each one publishes, quoted from its own pages.

Flat seats don't grow with talk time, so the break-even depends on how much your agents talk. Here is when each one costs less than EmberDial at ten licenses with the same numbers. Items priced by quote are left out, so a real quote can only move these points higher.

One-time setup

On EmberDial, self-service setup has no fee: import a CSV, map its fields and start a campaign. At 10 or more licenses, onboarding and one CRM connection are included, with a 3-month minimum. Below that, a CRM connection is $499 one-time. Major data cleanup and white-label work are quoted separately.

Among the competitors, PhoneBurner’s FAQ describes month-to-month pricing with no setup fees and says an annual plan saves 15% (FAQ). ARMOR number protection is $5 a month per PhoneBurner number (help center). The other profiles don't record a setup fee either way, so ask each vendor about onboarding, number porting and CRM work before you sign.

Leads and data

These costs sit outside every figure above, and we don't price them here:

  • Leads. Fresh, aged and live-transfer leads are priced by each vendor. Separate the lead cost from the software cost if your current dialer bundles them.
  • DNC registry screening. EmberDial screens through your own DNC.com account, and PhoneBurner's registry scrubbing runs through a separate DNC.com subscription. Ask DNC.com for its price.
  • Taxes and surcharges. EmberDial's written order confirms them before activation. Ask other vendors the same.

Hidden costs to ask about

  1. Who counts as a seat? Ask whether you pay per named user or per simultaneous caller, and whether part-time agents can share.
  2. What is "unlimited"? Ask for the fair use policy, the minute allowance per user and the rate above it. Some policies exclude call centers or telemarketing.
  3. Carrier and usage fees. Ask whether calling is billed apart from the subscription, and at what rate for inbound and outbound minutes.
  4. Numbers. Ask how many local numbers come with each seat, what extras cost and whether number protection is charged per number.
  5. Reputation monitoring. Ask whether it is included, a higher plan or an add-on, and which numbers it covers.
  6. Transcripts and AI. Ask which plan includes transcripts, summaries and call review, and how live guidance is metered.
  7. Voicemail drop. Ask whether it is included or charged per drop, and what consent it needs.
  8. DNC screening. Ask whether registry checks run before every dial and whether they need a separate subscription.
  9. Setup and commitment. Ask about onboarding, CRM connection and porting fees, minimum users, minimum months and annual terms.
  10. Taxes and surcharges. Ask for an all-in monthly figure at your real talk time, in writing.

FAQ

How much does a dialer cost a 10-agent insurance agency?

About $900 to $2,990 a month for the dialer itself at published list prices, before leads, DNC data and taxes. On EmberDial, ten licenses cost $1,190 a month at 1,000 connected minutes per agent and $1,990 at 5,000. Convoso and Kixie need a quote. See the worked tables.

Do 10 agents need 10 licenses?

Only if all ten dial at the same moment. An EmberDial license supports one simultaneous caller, and agents keep their own logins and share licenses across shifts. Two shifts of five agents need 5 licenses, which brings the 2,000-minute example from $1,390 to $895 a month. If every license is in use, the next agent waits in a queue until one frees up (license rules).

For ten agents, is a flat seat price cheaper than paying per minute?

Above a certain talk time, yes. EmberDial is $99 per concurrent license a month plus $0.02 per connected minute. It costs less than PhoneBurner Standard at $165 a user below about 3,300 connected minutes per agent a month, and less than ReadyMode Starter at $239 a license below about 7,000. Add-ons, numbers and fair-use terms move those points.

Is there a setup fee for a 10-agent team?

Not on EmberDial at ten licenses. Self-service setup has no fee, and teams of 10 or more licenses get onboarding and one CRM connection included, with a 3-month minimum. On 5 shared licenses, a CRM connection is $499 one-time if you want one. Major cleanup and white-label work are quoted separately (setup details).

Are leads and DNC data included in these figures?

No. Leads are a separate bill, and their prices vary too much by vendor, age and type to price here. EmberDial checks your internal DNC list on every dial and screens against the registry through your own DNC.com account, so you pay DNC.com for that subscription directly.

Why do Convoso and Kixie show "needs a quote"?

Their pricing pages list plans without prices. For the 2,000-minute example, a quote has to come in under $139 per seat a month, all in, to cost less than EmberDial. That includes carrier fees and the add-ons you need.

Does this math only apply to insurance agencies?

No. EmberDial is an outbound sales dialer for US teams and agencies, and insurance is one of the industries it serves. The same line items apply to any ten-person outbound team: seats or licenses, talk time, numbers, add-ons, setup and data.
